She also notes how comfortably the device hangs around the neck, thanks to its well-balanced weight. “It’s much more comfortable than a device you can only look through with one eye,” she explains. Theresa quickly became a fan of the Merger LRF XP35’s built-in laser rangefinder, calling it an essential tool for both observation and hunting. “I wouldn’t want to be without it!” she says. The rangefinder measures the exact distance to a target, which is especially valuable in wide open areas where judging distance can be tricky.
Its usefulness becomes even more apparent at night. “In the dark, it’s hard to estimate distances, especially in open meadows. In forests, you can use trees as landmarks, but out in the open, it’s much harder,” Theresa explains. Having accurate distance measurements helps hunters plan their approach more carefully and feel more confident and safe in the field. She prefers the green mode in dense terrain because “it makes the signature of an animal stand out better and more clearly between many branches or bushes.” The variety of color options allows users to choose the best setting for different environments.
