To many, hunting is synonymous with freedom. And naturally, no hunter out there wants to limit themselves to just going after one animal or perhaps always do it in the same manner, whether it’s stalking, bait hunting, or active hunting. Yet, many find themselves at crossroads – because you either have to choose your hunt or stack your home full of equipment.

(Please pardon the cheesy metaphor, if you can.) So, we asked our brand ambassadors – avid professional hunters from all over Europe – what would that one device be, and their answer was uniform – Pulsar Digex C50.

Why the new Digex? For Krzysztof Turowski, a hunter from Poland, it’s a synonym for a detailed image. “I was shocked at how many details can be seen around. I have not seen anything like this in any other night vision device ever before.”
Swedish hunter Stefan Orman has elaborated on this a little bit further: “A little lower base magnification gives you better environmental awareness, and that together with the newer hardware and smarter algorithms performs a lot better for a better image with almost no white-out effect.”

Colour the darkness
We wouldn’t do justice for the new Digex C50 if we didn’t mention its unique Twilight mode. In simple terms, it colourizes the image from sunset till dusk, when your eyes can barely distinguish the natural colours. Swedish female hunter Erica Victoria Egonsson puts it this way: “When it got darker and darker, I still got a picture like it was daylight.” And if we’d want to brag, we’d have to use Krzysztof’s words: “This is something really WOW, for which I am waiting very much because thanks to this scope, hunting will be even safer and more effective.”
Here’s a little more from Stefan: “The amazing twilight mode gives you colour vision in almost complete darkness. The benefit of colour is that if you’re looking for a certain animal and it has any unique colour markings, it will be a lot easier to identify it. In Sweden, we can only use night vision and thermal scopes for wild boar hunting. But in countries where you can hunt other species that are either smaller or tend to be difficult to get closer than 70 m, this thing is going to be perfect.”

The convenience of use
We started this article by talking about universal devices – the ones that can be used for a wide range of hunting styles. Digex C50 certainly passes the bar thanks to its universal mount. Christian Rysgaard, a hunter from Denmark, says he really enjoys the feature: “The classic layout with 30 mm tube and lenses looks great and takes away a lot of critique of night optics. As a bonus, I can fit this directly on my Sauer 404 with the quality universal mount and avoid having to buy special mounts and keep multiple rifles up and running.”
A powerful combination
Is the Digex C50 the ultimate device for any type of hunter? Well, yes and no. For some, it might be enough, but Christian recommends pairing it with a thermal spotter: “In my opinion, the combination of the Digex C50 and the Axion LRF XQ38 thermal spotter is the most powerful and price-friendly on the market right now. Combining a thermal spotter with a digital night scope gives you all the opportunity of instant detection and easy recognition that you could wish for as a night-time hunter, disregarding the type of game you have in mind.
