“When you think that Pulsar has reached a state of the art while designing their devices, a new, awesome unit comes to break the rules”, says hunter Riccardo Tamburini when discussing the fresh Thermion 2 LRF XL60. Others who have tested it agree – this thermal imaging riflescope is a real game-changer.
The newest Thermion 2 LRF XL60 is a long-range thermal beast that allows you to dominate the hunting field with unmatched precision. Featuring a larger 60 mm focal length lens, it has a higher base magnification (2.5x), guaranteeing even more accuracy.
That’s one of the first things noticed by a hunter from Australia, Nathan Stuart: “The image is wonderful. I’ve wanted a 2.5x base magnification device with excellent clarity for a long time and there it is. The digital magnification is the best of all the Pulsar devices I have used. Hands down, the best”, says Nathan Stuart.
His opinion is matched by an experienced hunter from the UK, Lee Perryman: “You don’t lose any quality while zooming – the definition of the image stays great. Also, the 60 mm objective provides an enormous field of view and helps to identify what’s going on in front of you easily.”
According to Italian hunter, Riccardo Tamburini, the Thermion 2 LRF XL60 and its image quality can satisfy every need
“The bigger objective allows it to capture more heat signatures, allowing the HD 1024×768 @ 12 µm thermal imaging sensor to process more info, thus returning more details on the display”, notes Riccardo.
An avid Swedish hunter, Stefan Orman, continues by praising the cutting-edge eyepiece optics of the Thermion 2 LRF XL60 – a 65 mm eye relief, an 8 mm exit pupil, and a clear wide-angle eyepiece.
The latter is optimized for use with high-resolution micro-displays, in this case – a crisp 2560×2560 Micro-OLED display. And everything is designed for flawless long-range application.
“First off, the ocular is absolutely amazing. The new eye relief, the upgraded display – it’s all a complete home run. This is the standard we need for all future riflescopes, period”, says Stefan.
Nathan Stuart adds that he can’t find a thing not to adore about the upgraded features of the Thermion 2 LRF XL60: “I love all of it: the rounded display edges, extra eye relief, and the increased resolution.”
For Riccardo Tamburini, the wider, redesigned eyepiece is a real game-changer: “The device offers extreme precision even if you’re aiming at small objects from very far away.”
In addition, even more accuracy is ensured due to the reduced click value (16 mm @ 100 m), adding to the precision remarkably when zeroing in your riflescope. To compare, the previous model had a click value of 24 mm.
With extra attention to safety and comfort, it’s worth emphasising the super-long, 65 mm eye relief which ensures aiming with this thermal device feels just like with your conventional daytime riflescope.

To Swedish hunter Stefan Orman, the longer eye relief is important because it allows shooting with high-caliber hunting ammunition while feeling extremely safe.
Riccardo Tamburini highlights the immaculate comfort, guaranteed by the increased eye relief.
“It’s incredible. You can spend many hours in the field without having any problems with your sight. Also, your aiming eye can be further away from the eyepiece, avoiding issues with the recoil”, says Riccardo.
Talking about comfort, the Italian hunter calls attention to the fact that since the shape of the new riflescope is the same as that of Thermion 2 LRF XL50, he didn’t have any issues mounting it on his old mount.
Discussing other great features of the new Pulsar thermal imaging riflescope, Stefan Orman emphasises the staggering detection range, improved identification, and a wide field of view that adds even more versatility to the device.
“The ability to detect animals up to 2800 m is excellent. At the same time, I can easily identify animals even at several hundred metres – especially for tasks like determining the gender of wild boars. The amazing FOV also makes it suitable for close-range use, similar to the Thermion 2 LRF XP50 but with increased detection range”, says Stefan.
All the features of the newest Thermion 2 LRF XL60 paired with the seamlessly integrated laser rangefinder and the ballistic calculator create a device that’s great for foxing, predator and pest control.
Hunter Riccardo Tamburini ensures that if you’re a professional hunter, the fresh unit from Pulsar is a must.
“This thermal imaging riflescope is an amazing choice for experienced hunters and rangers engaged in pest control or varmint hunting at long distances, as the riflescope provides even more accuracy while shooting at small targets“, says Riccardo.
