Meeting and talking to our brand ambassadors is an exciting part of our job here at Pulsar. Having an opportunity to get to know experienced hunters from all over Europe (and now – Australia!), hearing how they use our devices in real life, listening to their ideas for improvement, and simply having some friendly banter is truly special. To find out more about being an ambassador from the hunters’ perspective, keep on reading this interview with Kevin Murphy and Phil Taylor from the UK, Riccardo Tamburini from Italy, Agnieszka Walczak from Poland, Nathan Stuart from Australia, and Henrik Sproedt from Germany.

Kevin: Firstly, I thought it was the opportunity to be able to use equipment from the benchmark for thermal imagers. I wanted to branch out and learn about this side of the industry.
Phil: Same here – Pulsar is the market leader in thermal and night vision, so when I saw the application 3 years ago, I thought it was a fantastic opportunity.
Riccardo: I came from the fishing industry, where I was able to develop some good expertise as a photographer, copywriter and video maker. I was also an executive in sales and marketing, so I tried to get involved with a super brand more focused on hunting, which was another great passion of mine. My goal was to have the chance to start a new adventure as a pro in a market completely new for me, as hunting was.
Agnieszka: There were several factors. As the guys have already said, Pulsar is the most valued manufacturer of thermal and night vision devices on the market, so show me someone who would not like to test this equipment? (smiles) However, the cooperation between the company and the ambassadors is also of great importance. I have the pleasure of being a friend of Julia, who became a Pulsar Brand Ambassador a year before me and told me about the fantastic atmosphere in the team. Her stories encouraged me to submit my candidacy.
Henrik: It is not that I really decided it. It kind of happened after Liudas, the head of marketing at Pulsar, and I met, and we realized that we’d like to work together. For me personally, it was important to realize that I really can vouch for the products and that I can trust the company beyond the marketing facade.
Nathan: Similarly to Henrik, I was a Pulsar user and strong believer in the equipment before forming a relationship with Liudas. It all happened on the back of a few device reviews I had created on my YouTube channel.
Kevin: This is hard, but I would say the bonus of being able to get your hands on a variety of units that some people would dream of using. Then, also, Pulsar employees themselves listen to us as ambassadors and apply our opinions to the development of the devices.
Henrik: Being involved in the testing and development of products that make my life as a hunter much easier and that help me to hunt better.
Phil: I agree; the best thing about being an ambassador for Pulsar is, firstly, the trust that Pulsar puts in us and, secondly, being a part of the fantastic Pulsar family. We also get to use the latest products on the market and provide negative and positive feedback that will hopefully make a difference to the next generation of products.
Riccardo: When you are an ambassador of an important company, which is a benchmark in the market, you begin to appear more reliable to other people who start asking you a lot of things about devices, warranties, bugs, and tons of other questions. The seriousness of the company guarantees for you, and you become the face of the company in your country. This is a mission, and you have to do your best to explain how great the company you are representing is: this is a big challenge. This cooperation is also giving me a chance to quickly become an opinion leader in a market I love, like hunting. Being an ambassador allows me to meet a lot of good passionate people, hunting addicts like me. Spending time with them not only in a virtual way but also directly on the field – that’s what we love. These meet-ups happen both in my country, Italy, and abroad, where other ambassadors join in, making it even more fun.
Agnieszka: Getting to know so many fantastic people who make up the Pulsar team. Both people from the company who always offer their help and support, as well as other ambassadors who share their experiences and stories. The Pulsar team is one big family. Ambassadors meet not only during meetings organized by Pulsar but also privately, for example, on hunting trips. We support each other, we help each other, we joke, we share life events.
Of course, the ability to test products before they hit the market is also a great benefit. As ambassadors, we have the opportunity to check the equipment in the field, assess its advantages and disadvantages. Our observations are always carefully listened to by the company and taken into account when creating new equipment.
Nathan: Same here, I enjoy the ambassadors’ team interaction and, of course, access to new devices to test and review.
Phil: The most unexpected part of the program is the trust we are shown to know about future products at the design and planning stage. This really shows that Pulsar values our feedback, as now we are starting to see some of our ideas appear in products.
Nathan: Probably how tight the team is between Pulsar and the other ambassadors.
Henrik: Like for Nathan, it’s the group of amazing people inside and outside the company who I met in the context of this program.
Kevin: Same here; it’s the family! The ambassadors’ team is a big family, and we all speak so much and have a great time together. I didn’t expect to feel so at home with something so quickly. It’s amazing.
Agnieszka: It is a very pleasant surprise that Pulsar does not treat its ambassadors as marketing pawns. We are not people who are expected to sell a product at any price. Pulsar wants us to be honest about what we think about the hardware so they can make even better models. In addition, the company makes sure that we feel like a family. The atmosphere in the Pulsar team is very important. There’s no competition here. Each person supports and cheers the rest of the team.
Riccardo: This experience is a 360° challenge. It allows me to test my limits when working with passion, devotion and expertise. But also, considering the Italian culture, it can be a great challenge to earn your name as a reliable “equipment reviewer”.
Riccardo: As I said, it’s a great chance to meet new people who come from abroad with a completely different mindset. Now, I can consider them friends, although before, they were some buddies who started to be involved in the program with me from the beginning. It’s a wonderful opportunity to grow as a person, and this is the strongest point for me; then, you also have the chance to know, understand and use, before and better than the others, sophisticated and complex devices that are always more friendly to use but difficult to build.
Nathan: It can be a great way to experience new devices and get insight into equipment otherwise only available to dealers. We are also involved in some R&D feedback for better or worse, which is always interesting.
Agnieszka: You have the opportunity to be part of a wonderful family. You will meet wonderful people from all over the world. You will have the opportunity to test the best equipment on the market. You will have the opportunity to use their experience to help in the creation of equipment.
Phil: I would recommend others to apply as it’s a great, well-run team of like-minded people that all get on with each other. You get the opportunity to visit Lithuania and have a tour of the factory and facilities, as well as spend a few days with your team members having fun. The team is only going from strength to strength, with a diverse bunch of guys all bringing something different to the table.
Henrik: The guys stated the benefits perfectly, but I would like to add that if you really want to contribute and your interest goes beyond getting stuff for free and major discounts, absolutely apply. If you are interested in showing off, don’t care for hunting or the product – rather not.
