We’re happy to announce that Firmware update 4.1.000 is now available for Talion series riflescopes (XQ38, XQ35 Pro, XG35). This update brings a range of new features and refinements, fulfilling our promise to continue to invest in every device long after its release. Here’s what’s new:
- Shadow Recording: Runs continuously in the background without saving anything. Press the button, and it saves footage from the seconds before — so you never miss a moment.
- Recoil Recording: Starts recording automatically the moment the riflescope registers recoil. No manual activation needed.
- USB-C video output: Connect your device directly to a tablet, phone, or computer — no adapters required.
- User Settings: Replaces User Mode with broader functionality and more personalization options.
- Enhanced UI: Clearer navigation and a smoother overall experience.
- Wi-Fi menu timeout extended: More time to complete your Wi-Fi setup in the field.
- Auto display off: The screen turns off automatically based on the device’s position, helping save battery and ensure concealment.
- Green color palette: A new color option for more personalization.
- Units in Ballistics & Zeroing: The ballistics calculator and zeroing widget now display measurement units for added clarity.
Never miss the shot
With Shadow Recording, you’ll never miss an important moment. Working continuously in the background, it buffers the footage continuously and, when you press the REC button, also saves the previous 30 seconds, so your footage always includes what happened right before the action.
Recoil Recording takes over when you don’t want to think about pressing any buttons. Activate it in the menu, and your recording starts the instant recoil is felt, with no need to press any button.
Together, these two features ensure you capture everything, before and after the shot. And for moments when you prefer to watch on a bigger screen, harness the live streaming through USB-C video output. Simply connect your Talion to your phone or computer, and enjoy a better view, with no adapters required.
Better user interface
We’re also introducing User Settings — a replacement for User Mode with broader functionality, giving you more hands-on control and personalization. Navigation has also been improved for a smoother, more intuitive experience out in the field.
Firmware update 4.1.000 also extends the Wi-Fi menu timeout, giving you more time to complete setup. And the new Auto display off feature automatically turns off the screen based on the device’s position, helping conserve battery during long sessions outdoors.
Modern improvements, same tool
Your Talion scope now features a green color palette, among other options. This is another step toward making your scope truly yours, letting you adapt your view to different environments without compromising image quality.
Finally, the ballistics calculator and zeroing widget now display measurement units, so you can make the right choice with confidence.
