Some say that finding friends as an adult can be tough. But perhaps our brand ambassadors have found the secret to it – look for people who share the same interests, and the friendships will come without you even noticing it. Through their work with Pulsar, the ambassadors have met lots of like-minded people who they now call friends. We asked some of them to share their favorite stories from these friendships that we hope will last a lifetime. Here’s what Julia Nowak – a Polish huntress currently based in Sweden, Stefan Orman and Erica Egonsson from Sweden, Andrea Lysvold from Norway, Lee Perryman and Phil Taylor from the UK told us.
Julia came to Sweden to study, but here, she also gets a chance to hunt together with other Pulsar Brand Ambassadors. Recently, herself and Erica Egonsson had a girls’ night out, but it was far from a typical one – obviously they went hunting. Here’s what Julia said about it: “I don’t get many possibilities to hunt with women only, so it was very exciting. It was nice to see how Erica hunts and how it is organized in Sweden.”
From Erica’s point of view, it was an interesting meet-up for which she did some thoughtful planning: “Julia came to visit me and I planned that we would go fallow deer hunting that evening. Julia has red deer and wild boar at home in Poland, so I thought it would be fun to hunt one of my favorite games while we’re here. Girls night out our way! And it really had everything. Orange sky, fallow deers, stalking and hunting luck.”
But it wasn’t Julia’s only adventure in Sweden with her fellow ambassador. She also went hunting with Stefan. Later, they also did a Pulsar demonstration together for local hunters and nature enthusiasts. “During the demo, we showed Pulsar units available currently and introduced some of the new ones, including Talion and the Axions. As for hunting, it was a really fun time we spent in the forest looking for capercaillies and black grouse. It was a really nice experience and it’s always fun to be on an adventure with a teammate!” says Stefan of the time they spent together with Julia.
For our Scandinavian-based brand ambassadors, meet-ups are quite convenient to organize. However, Stefan doesn’t shy away from traveling a bit further to visit his peers in the UK – Phil and Lee. “Being an ambassador for a European company has given me the opportunity to meet new people and build new friendships. My offer to hunt squirrels reached my new good friend and Pulsar teammate Stefan Orman from Sweden. He traveled to the UK to hunt with me and then we represented Pulsar along with Phil Taylor at the Thomas Jacks stand at the British Shooting Show. After the weekend’s excitement at the show, it was time to relax and what better way to do it than to have Phil take us out for a day shooting on the clays,” tells Lee about their recent meet-up.
Now, Phil reveals, it’s their turn to visit Stefan in Sweden: “Being an ambassador is not all about testing devices – it’s also about forming a team of like minded people to work with each other. We all hunt in different ways and for different species around Europe. The trip to Lithuania last October brought the team together even more – it was laughs, jokes and banter from start to finish and we all learned a bit about how each other hunts.
I know Lee & myself have both been invited over to Sweden to hunt boar with Stefan which we are both looking forward to very much. And soon we will meet in Lithuania again and I’m sure the laughs, jokes and banter will pick up where it left off last time.”
Stefan has been a Pulsar ambassador for quite a while now, and it’s safe to say he’s made plenty of friends. But we also love seeing how he helps new members to assimilate and feel that much more welcome into the family. Recently, he invited Andrea Lysvold – one of our newest brand ambassadors – to join him for a hunt in Sweden.
“I had only been hunting wild boar from huts and feeders. This time, we were stalking. The first few days we walked without any luck. Then, we went to a new area. The fog was so thick, we weren’t able to see anything with our own eyes. Fortunately, the thermals – Thermion 2 LRF XP50 PRO and Krypton FXG50 – had a perfect view through the fog, so not long after, we spotted wild boar a couple hundred meters away. My pulse was insane but I was ready. Soon, I had my first wild boar ever,” tells Andrea of their adventure in Sweden.
Stefan also told us that a little earlier on the trip, they’ve managed to get Andrea’s first fallow deer. But what amazed him most was Andrea’s professionalism: “I’ve had many hunters with many more years of experience with me and 98% would have never been able to finish the stalk the way Andrea did. Only a true hunter with the right determination would do it. When she finally took the shot, it was perfect. This girl is a really good hunter.”
Having friends is great when it comes to having fun. But it’s also just as great when you need some help, too. That’s what recently happened to Erica: “I had a problem zeroing my new Digex C50. Stefan and I live close to each other, so, of course, I called him for help. Teamwork, after all. And I even got to try out the Krypton. It’s always fun to shoot and to meet up with teammates!”
Stefan told us he could use some time in the range, too, so he didn’t doubt a second when Erica called him up. “Erica and I had a good time in the lovely and not warm weather (translation = cold, wet and miserable). I couldn’t say no to hanging out with a teammate and helping Erica in the meantime,” added Stefan about their most recent meet-up.
